The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is unfortunately in May, not July, but is something I plan to attend, someday:

There's also Wizard World in April and Fan Expo in August, but these have less of a focus on small-press stuff. They're probably still lots of fun, mind you! I've been to two cons (Calgary and Seattle) and neither one was indie-centric, and I had a hell of a good time!
